CORRUPTION BEEF IMPORTS: Commission Affirms Sealing Five Cars in the Office of Legal Agreement

While Elizabeth, Juard and Arya Effendi alleged violation of Article 5 paragraph (1) or Article 13 of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No.. 20/2001 in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code to-1 or promise gifts to state officials.

Sony reports first annual profit in five years

Sony has reported an annual profit for the first time in five years, boosted by asset sales and a weakening yen. 

Net profit was 43bn yen ($436m; £280m) in the year to 31 March, compared with a 457bn loss a year earlier.
Sony said the yen's recent fall, which makes its goods cheaper for foreign buyers, boosted sales. A weak yen also lifts profits when firms repatriate their foreign earnings back home.
But some analysts said gains from asset sales had skewed the latest numbers.
The firm said it expected its profits to rise to 50bn yen in the current financial year, with the yen forecast to remain weak.
The Japanese currency has fallen more than 20% against the US dollar since November last year, after policymakers unveiled a series of aggressive measures aimed at spurring growth in the economy.
Restructuring process Sony, which was once a market leader in various product categories, has seen its fortunes plummet over the past few years.
Increased competition, falling prices and narrowing profit margins have hurt its business, especially in the TV segment which has been making a loss for the past eight years.
As a result, Sony has been trying to restructure its business model and reduce its costs.
As part of the restructuring process, the firm has sold key assets over the past few months, including its US headquarters in New York and some of its shares in M3, a medical research and marketing firm.
The firm has also offloaded its "Sony City Osaki" building in Tokyo.
Sony said the sale of all these assets had resulted in gains of nearly $2.5bn during the last financial year - and the figure contributed to the rise in its earnings during the period.
Analysts said that given the impact these sales have had on its profit - the numbers were not a true reflection of the firm's success.
Gerhard Fasol of Eurotechnology Japan said that these gains "really need to be subtracted from the results, to understand the regular operating results".
Mr Fasol pointed out that the firm's results indicated that its electronics division continued to struggle and that the unit had not been turned around yet.

Garlic is now Import Quota No Longer Wear

Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan Trade issued Decree No.. 16/M- DAG/PER/4/2013 dated 22 April 2013 on the Import of Horticultural Products. One point is the abolition of the quota system for the import of garlic.
Director General of Foreign Trade Bachrul Chairi confirmed, the new Minister of Trade Regulation regulates 39 types of imported horticultural products.
There is a reduction of 18 types of horticultural products are regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Trade before, kind of horticultural products are excluded from the Regulation of the Minister of Trade earlier is Garlic, Garlic powder, chilli powder, Cabbage, Chrysanthemum, Flowers Heliconia, Orchid Flower, and some horticultural products processed.
"Thus, the importation of horticultural products no longer apply the quota allocation restrictions, licensing becomes more simple, and the process is done online," said Director General Bachrul Chairi in a statement on Wednesday (24/04/2013)
The new rules automatically revoke previous regulations which the Minister of Trade Regulation No.. 30/M- DAG/PER/6/2012 as amended by No.. 60/M- DAG/PER/9/2012 on the Import Products Horticulture.
"We want the licensing process more simple, the administration of imports became more orderly so that certainty in trying to be more secure," he said.
Provisions in the new rules include:
First, any imports of horticultural products can only be done by the importer Manufacturers (IP) and a Registered Importer (IT) Horticultural Products, and for every horticultural products Import Approval must be received Horticultural Products Import Recommendation (RIPH) from the Ministry of Agriculture.
Second, for the issuance IP, IT, and Horticultural Products Import Approval to the Ministry of Commerce only served through the online system (INATRADE). Trade Service Unit will complete the issuance of IP, IT, and the Import Agreement within a period of 2 (two) business days after the full stated requirements.
Third, any importation of horticultural products to be verified or do technical surveillance of import in the country of origin by the loading port appointed surveyor. In addition the company that did the importation of horticultural products must comply with quarantine, packaging, and labels in accordance with legislation.
Fourth, to IP, IT, and the Import Approval has been issued by the Minister of Trade Regulation No.. 30/M-DAG/PER/6/2012 as amended by No.. 60/M-DAG/PER/9/2012 shall remain valid until they expire.

STYLE KATE MIDDLETON

Earlier today, William and Kate visited the Mons Barracks in Aldershot for the annual St. Partrick’s Day parade, where they met the 1st Battalion Irish Guards.  In his capacity as colonel of the regiment, William took part in the parade.  Meanwhile, Kate met officers and guardsmen, and then pinned bunches of shamrocks onto their jackets.  This tradition dates over 100 years, started in 1091 by Queen Alexandra, the wife of King Edward VII.
Kate’s bump was very visible under her outfit today, she is really starting to show!


Kate also gave a shamrock to the regiment’s new mascot, an eight-month-old Irish wolfhound named Domhnall, pinning the sprig to his bright red coat. You may remember Kate pinned a shamrock to Irish wolfhound Conmael last year?  The six-year-old dog was recently retired and Domhnall has been training to take his place.  Today was Domhnall’s first public engagement.

Kate ‘repeated’ her dark green Emilia Wickstead coat dress, which she wore to last year’s Irish Guard parade too.  However, this time Kate paired the outfit with black accessories instead of brown. She also removed the belt to accomodate for her growing baby bump.

This year, Kate accessorised her Emilia Wickstead coat dress with her black John Lock “Fairy Tale” hat (last worn in March last year, during her trip to Leicester with The Queen and Prince Phillip.  She also wore her black Episode Angel shoes and the Cornelia James black wool gloves with side bow.






Under her coat dress, you’ll noticed a black polo neck (turtleneck) sweater.  Many speculate that this could be the same garment Kate wore under her Luisa Spagnoli suit dress from a visit to at Saint Andrews, or even the black Oasis dress worn on the visit to Liverpool last February.  Of course, it could be a different piece entirely!

Kate also wore a gold shamrock brooch by Cartier.  The brooch is a royal heirloom first worn by Queen Alexandra in 1901 and which has also been worn by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother too.
Kate wore a pair of unidentified emerald green earrings, last worn publicly to the London Natural History Museum in November 2012.
Kate wore her hair up today, tied into a neat chignon and pinned into place, with her hat resting on top.  We contrast her hairstyle with last year’s in the following picture – I have to say, I much prefer today’s look – there’s just something fabulous about Kate’s up-dos!

Kate gets her shoe stuck!

Today’s parade didn’t go without a hitch though.  And it was not puppy Domhnall that caused problems, as some might have expected – no it’s was Kate’s black heels getting stuck in a grate.  The malfunction was only minor as Kate freed her shoe from the drain, clutching onto her husband who was dressed in full ceremonial uniform.  The whole event only lasted a few seconds, but photographers managed to capture the moment (below) oops!
